What Is Your Prayer Life Like?
Dangers Of Comparing Yourself With Others
Have you ever compared your prayer life to others? Ever envied how easily the words flowed from their mouths? How in the world were they able to do that?! They never stutter, never falter, and are never stumped with what to say next.
Consequently, many Godly people end up feeling inapt praying with others. This does not mean that there is something wrong with them, or their relationship with Christ. Rather the depth of love they feel for Christ causes concern for doing Him injustice. As parents, we learn how to do everything for our children for the first time when they are born. You learn how to raise a child. Learning how to develop a healthy prayer life is the same thing.
Do You Want To Strengthen Your Prayer Life?
Here’s the thing. You don’t need the words. God will give you the words in His time. It’s not about you, it is about Him and His love for you. God wants you to be with Him. Learn how to spend meaningful time alone with Him in prayer and friendship. His desire is for us to seek Him and praise Him. He desires a relationship, friendship, and LOVE.
Jesus doesn’t want to judge your ability to pray or inability for that matter. He just wants to spend time with you.
5 Ways to Strengthen Your Prayer Life
- First, give praise and thank Him for all of His Glory, and all that He has done.
- Spend time talking to Jesus as a friend.
- Ask for His will in your prayers.
- Ask for His help, even if it is as small as having the strength to do the dishes that evening. He wants to help you in all areas of your life, big or small.
